Our client is a leading middle market private equity firm, investing in funds and middle market companies. Originally European, the firm now has a global presence and is growing significantly in the US.
The firm has recruited an impressive senior individual to lead the strategy and provided some seed capital with which the team will begin investing ahead of raising a dedicated fund. The bulk of deal volume will be lower middle market CVs, with the balance being traditional LP-leds.
The firm has some differentiating factors that give it some advantages over comparable managers growing Secondaries businesses now. These include sourcing capabilities, existing highly-relevant market relationships and ability to be selective about investment quality.
The team needs to make a number of hires now, one of which is at VP level (they’re also hiring Associates). There will be a lot of white space between this individual and the team head, so applicants need to be mature and confident.
Applicants should have experience in direct PE investing, ideally with exposure to tech / software. A foundation in investment banking with top tier academic profile is highly desired.
