A fast-growing, entrepreneurial private equity firm is seeking an M&A Director to help build a market-leading platform in the IT Services sector. This is a rare opportunity to join a early stage, high-velocity buy-and-build platform in the UK lower mid-market.
As M&A Director, you’ll lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisitions, working closely with Partners and senior leadership to shape the investment thesis and drive transactions from origination through to completion.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead M&A projects autonomously, managing multiple deals simultaneously
- Drive end-to-end transaction execution including structuring, negotiation, and documentation
- Oversee financial and commercial due diligence, coordinating with external advisors
- Prepare investment committee materials and present recommendations
- Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to identify acquisition targets
- Build relationships with business owners, advisors, and stakeholders
Experience
Candidate Profile:
- ACA qualified or equivalent, with experience in Big 4 M&A/Transaction Services or Investment Banking
- May also come from Corporate Development, boutique advisory, or similar backgrounds
- Experience in IT Services or adjacent sectors (B2B Services) is strongly preferred
- Proven track record in lower/mid-market transactions
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage SME/OMB owners credibly
- Highly organised, self-starting, and able to manage competing priorities
