Currently, an established Boston-based investment firm is looking to add a Senior Analyst to its Venture Capital team. Following a recent oversubscribed fundraise, the platform invests primarily in venture capital funds, complemented by selective co-investments and secondary investments. The team combines a longstanding investment track record and access to well-regarded VC managers with a lean, collaborative structure, offering close collaboration with senior investors and broad exposure across the investment process.
The Role
As part of the investment team, you will evaluate new and existing venture capital fund managers, conduct investment due diligence, and monitor portfolio performance. Participating in manager meetings, developing investment views, and contributing to investment recommendations will be core components of the role.
Responsibilities will include analyzing fund and underlying company data, assessing performance drivers across sectors and geographies, and preparing investment materials. You will also help improve analytical tools and workflows through AI and automation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Top applicants for this role have approximately 2–3 years of full-time professional experience in:
- Investment Banking
- Private Markets Investing
- Consulting
- Asset Management
Prior venture capital experience is not required. The team welcomes intellectually curious generalists with a demonstrated interest in investing and technology.
Additionally, candidates should have:
- Strong academic background
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear investment conclusions
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to form and defend a point of view
- A proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and ownership of their work
- Interest in using AI and automation to improve investment research and portfolio monitoring
- Must be living in Boston or open to relocating to Boston, ideally with some existing ties to the city
- Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
