Primarily responsibilities will be to support the VP on the team in the following activities.
- Financial Modelling: the candidates will be expected to prepare and update financial models related to funds, real estate investments (including both operating assets and development projects), and operating companies.
- Business Plans: The company invests in portfolio companies which prepare their own business plans. However, the firm may have plans that differ from those of the management teams, and the candidates will be expected to help critically evaluate management’s plans and their alternatives.
- Reporting: the candidates will be expected to support both internal and external reporting on portfolio companies and investment funds.
- Transactions: The client is presented with a variety of investment opportunities through its portfolio companies. The candidates will support the acquisitions and dispositions of investments in their funds and evaluate how select transactions impact their investments in portfolio companies.

RequirementsThe ideal candidates will have:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in real estate investment, investment banking, or similar roles.
- Education: bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Skills: necessary skills are listed below.
- Financial Modeling – candidates must have a strong background in the preparation of Microsoft Excel based financial models. Ideally in both real estate investments and operating companies.
- Presentation – candidates must be able to work in Microsoft? Word and PowerPoint to prepare internal and external reports.
- Critical Thinking – candidates must be able to understand complex legal structures and evaluate the pros and cons of decisions that the client will face for different entities in its structures.
- Communication – candidates will be expected to effectively convey information between the client, external investors, and management teams of their portfolio companies.
- Attention to Detail – candidates will need to be detail-oriented in both the evaluation of investment decisions and preparation of materials.
- Organization – candidates will be required to track their progress on various assignments and manage a variety of deadlines across workstreams. Additionally, candidates will be required to maintain organized files, models, and reports.
