Associate - Technology Investment Banking
Our client is a leading global investment bank, providing a wide range of financial services to institutional clients worldwide. As part of their growth strategy, they are currently seeking an Associate, who will play a critical role, to join their investment banking team, focused on the Technology subverticals.
Responsibilities:

Valuation Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive valuation analyses, including discounted cash flows, relative valuations, asset valuations, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis.
- Navigate spreadsheets and financial models to assess deal profitability.

Market Research:
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and relevant financial news.
- Gather data to inform investment decisions and M&A strategies.

Financial Modeling:
- Create and implement financial models to review potential deals.
- Analyze financial statements, projections, and other relevant data.

Pitch Books and Presentations:
- Prepare pitch books and presentations for client meetings.

Transaction Support:
- Assist in preparing legal and financial documents related to M&A transactions.
- Collaborate with legal teams, investment bankers, and other stakeholders.

Due Diligence:
- Participate in due diligence processes for M&A deals.
- Review company financials, contracts, and other relevant information.
Qualifications:
- Education: Most Investment Banking M&A Associates hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees like an MBA can enhance qualifications.
- Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Passion for Finance: Genuine interest in finance and investment banking.
Desired Experience
The individual would ideally have at least one year of experience working as an Associate on private M&A transactions as an investment banker having successfully completed their Analyst years. Exposure to private M&A would be ideal, as well as a demonstrable interest in the technology sector. Solid technical foundations, with exposure to DCF and LBO modelling is a core requirement.Key Elements of the Role
