Which firms are hiring, where their people come from and how much experience they bring have all changed. Meanwhile, the US and European private credit markets are starting to look increasingly alike.
To help firms and candidates navigate this evolving landscape, Dartmouth’s Credit team has released a Private Credit Market Moves & Trends 2026 report. Drawing on every mid-level and senior hire across 134 private credit platforms in the US and Europe, it provides a data-led comparison of the two talent markets and the trends reshaping them.
We compared hiring from January to August 2026 with the previous three years. Scaled managers continue to lead recruitment, accounting for a greater share of hiring than ever before, while legacy hedge fund and public markets businesses such as PIMCO, Sona and Davidson Kempner have been hiring into private credit this year, following Abry Private Debt and Third Point’s team builds in 2024 and 2025.
At the same time, two long-standing markets are converging. European platforms now source, concentrate and pace their hiring much more like their US counterparts. The report shows how far that shift has gone, and what it means for the next hire or the next move.
Whether you’re building a team, planning your next move or benchmarking against the market, this report gives you the data to decide with confidence. Request your copy today!
