Terri Loska promoted to CEO at Dartmouth Partners

Dartmouth Partners, part of Kernel Global, a market-leading Group of global recruitment brands, is thrilled to announce Terri Loska, one of the founding employees of the firm, will be stepping into the role of CEO to lead the business into its next chapter of growth.

Despite market turbulence causing many UK firms to slow down on hiring, Dartmouth Partners has continued to place a record number of candidates in positions at FTSE 100 companies and acclaimed scaleups. With Terri at the helm, the firm will strategically grow by pursuing its ambitious expansion plans internationally, whilst continuing to deliver strong results in existing markets and a brand refresh in 2024.

Having started at Dartmouth Partners eleven years ago and holding the role of Managing Director for the last four, Terri is well positioned to take the firm through exciting growth plans over the coming months and years. She has long-standing experience of generating impactful, global hiring campaigns and will look at creating more opportunities to support diversity in leadership. Notably, it comes at a time where 57% of Dartmouth’s placements into private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) in 2022 were female versus a recruitment market average of c.25%. Continuing on this trend, 52% of Dartmouth’s placements into PE and VC over the last 12 months were also female.

The internal appointment of Terri actively demonstrates that Kernel lives and breathes the values they advocate supporting the growth of exceptional people through trusted autonomy and entrepreneurship. The appointment is considered a notable move within what has been, to-date, a male-dominated industry and seniority level – and the numbers prove this.

As a leading recruitment firm for Professional and Financial Services firms, Dartmouth Partners is acutely aware of the diversity imbalance within the industry. Looking at the FTSE 100, where many of Dartmouth Partners’ clients co-exist, as of August 2023, there are still only ten female CEOs. To add to that, in the FTSE 350, there are 19, equalling just 6% of the total. It is clear from these figures that the gender gap continues across Board and top Executive levels, and a lot more work needs to be done.

Dartmouth continues to push for market dominance by setting the standard of what strong, strategic hires should look like and by making fearless decisions across every aspect of business, such as hiring and culture.

Dartmouth Partners’ Founder and previous CEO, Logan Naidu, will remain as Group CEO of Kernel Global, with a focus on growing the international portfolio.

Terri Loska, CEO at Dartmouth Partners tells us: “It’s incredibly rare to have the opportunity to grow alongside a business for eleven years and still feel that there are new challenges to tackle and bigger ambitions to achieve. As I begin my new role at Dartmouth Partners as CEO, I now have the chance to shape the future of the business alongside the incredible teams we have built out over the years, and with the support of our recent investors Three Hills Capital Partners. I’m incredibly proud of what the business has achieved so far and believe that we can continue to raise expectations of what best practice looks like in our industry, both in the UK and internationally.”

Logan Naidu, Founder and CEO at Kernel stated: “It was an easy decision to make for the business – Terri was the right candidate for the job in every respect as her track record speaks for itself. In the midst of the uncertain economic environment, and with ever-evolving expectations from candidates and employers, Terri will be doubling down on raising the bar within the recruitment industry at a time when both candidates and clients need the best guidance possible. There’s a real need for thoughtful, consultative recruitment partners, and we will continue to set the standard in that respect with Terri leading the way.”

Pablo Vélez, Partner at Three Hills stated: “In the time we’ve spent with the team at Dartmouth Partners, we have consistently found Terri Loska to be an experienced operator who is well respected by clients and employees. We look forward to continuing to support Terri and the broader team at Kernel to achieve the business’ ambitious goals in the years ahead.”
