About the Firm
A Los Angeles-headquartered venture capital firm investing at the intersection of culture and technology is seeking to add an Associates to its investment team as the firm enters its next phase of growth. Founded over a decade ago, the firm has built a differentiated network spanning entertainment, media, and technology, and has backed a number of category-defining companies across consumer internet, AI, and enterprise software, with over $2 billion in assets under management.
What You Will Do
- Lead foundational diligence on prospective investments, including financial modeling, market sizing, competitive analysis, and reference calls
- Prepare investment memos and presentation materials to a high standard, synthesizing quantitative analysis and qualitative insight
- Contribute to sourcing – identifying emerging companies, tracking market themes, and building relationships within the founder community
- Participate in investment committee and internal discussions across all active deals
- Support portfolio companies where relevant, drawing on the firm’s network and platform
- Work across functions in a small team environment
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Candidates for this role ideally graduated from college between 2021-2023 and
- Have 2 years of technology-focused M&A investment banking experience
- Are currently in a technology-focused investing role at a growth equity fund or late-stage venture capital fund (ideally 1-2 years of experience)
- A genuine presence in the room – able to speak to market dynamics, team quality, and founder narrative, not just deliver the numbers
- Comfortable contributing at the investment committee level, not just supporting it
- An entrepreneurial mindset
- Genuine fluency in culture, media, and the broader creator/consumer landscape
- Strong relationship-builder — with founders, GPs, and internally
- Must be authorized to work in the US
