Our client is seeking a dynamic and self-starting Private Equity Business Development Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Private Equity, with experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with institutional investors to grow their investor base beyond existing LGPS and other institutional relationships.
Responsibilities
- Strategically Identifying Key Targets: Use market research and analysis to identify key investor and partnership targets.
- Assessing Strategic Opportunities: Identify and evaluate potential fundraising opportunities that align with our strategic goals.
- Function Building: Self-delivering a systematic and outbound sales function with the objective of delivering sales qualified leads to the senior members of the investment team including the Partners and then working with them to convert these sales leads into a long term investors and customers.
- Building Relationships: Develop relationships with potential institutional investors, ensuring continuous engagement and support.
- Attending Conferences: Identify and attend key industry events for networking and speaking opportunities to represent the firm in front of the most relevant audiences.
- Seeking Out RFPs: Proactively seek out and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to secure new business opportunities. Delivering Results: Demonstrate a drive to deliver results by meeting and exceeding business development targets. If required and desired, to assist with the appointment and work closely with placement agents to accelerate the pace at which funds might otherwise be raised.
- Creating and Delivering Pitch Materials: Write tailored and compelling pitch materials and deliver these with confidence to a range of audiences from large events to meetings with potential investors
Desired Experience
- Experience in Private Equity and in Investor Relations.
- Strategic thinker with confidence to take initiative in shaping and delivering results.
- Strong networking skills, with proactive presence at professional industry conferences and events.
- Experience with Salesforce and organised approach to contact management processes.
- Attention to detail and ability to prepare and deliver high quality presentations and written materials.
- Good existing network of likely investors and an understanding of the products that different institutions are likely to invest into.
- An aptitude and desire to self-deliver a sales function.
- Friendly, collaborative and approachable demeanour, with excellent and open communication skills.
