A private equity backed healthcare business is seeking to hire a Group M&A Director to oversee their entire M&A operations across Europe with a substantial budget to grow inorganically over the next 24 months.
This role is a key leadership role within the business, reporting directly into the CEO and sitting on the board.
Objectives: The key objectives will be to:
1. Lead the M&A strategy, recommending capital allocation for each individual market and ensure deal parameters are defined and met across markets
3. Source & execute structural M&A and adjacencies

1. Lead the M&A strategy, recommending capital allocation for each individual market and ensure deal parameters are defined and met across markets
2. Lead the UK&I team and drive the priorities of European markets to reach an acquisition pace of >£20m ebtida / annum and open new M&A / greenfield opportunities.

Responsibilities
You will have four primary areas of responsibilities;- Lead the UK&I M&A team, driving the strategy, cadence and oversight of the end-to-end M&A process
- Open new commercial opportunities by leading the origination, deal assessment and execution of opportunities. This could be acquiring further healthcare businesses, establishing management teams as well as new market adjacencies (e.g. lab, equipment, software).
- Oversee and support the M&A team in our European markets, challenging capital allocation, deal evaluation and the diligence process.
- Drive continuous improvement and share best practice between countries helping find commercial and creative solutions to agreeing deals and ensuring oversight and reporting on ROI

Desired Experience
- Strong People leader
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience across both advisory and in-house corporate development roles
- Extensive and proven prior deal experience, at ease with £1-15m EBITDA deal.
- Prior roles with evidence of strong commercial judgment
- Ability to work in an international setup with ability to lead change through influence
- Proven experience in (i) assessing deal opportunities, (ii) documenting transaction (SPAs) and (iii) executing process (managing buys-side DDs / advisors, execution, closing with funds flow, etc.)
- Willingness to go into the details of small deals to support local M&A teams
- Experience working in people-focused businesses. Healthcare businesses are a plus but not a prerequisite.
