My client is a 100-strong firm globally, which much of their headcount in London. They are seeking their first ever CEO is they carve out of a larger corporate. The COO will be the most senior person in the London office and ensure the smooth running and scaling of the firm.
All support functions will report into this hire (apart from Finance), including HR, IT, Risk and Compliance. The initial challenge will be to build a structure and operational blueprint that will ensure the business can stand alone outside of the parent, build robust foundations and processes to enable future growth.
Growth will be realised via international expansion, improvements in their go-to-market approach, via pricing and via opportunistic M&A over time.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all departments. Implement and optimize processes to improve productivity and employee satisfaction.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute business strategies. Align operational goals with the company's long-term vision and objectives.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of managers and staff. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes collaboration and high performance.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, the PE owners and vendors to support business growth and sustainability.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:- Been an Operations Director or COO of a 50-300 person firm, ideally privately held
- Ideally, from an industry where the main cost area is people i.e. people heavy business
- International experience
- Experience leading a carved out entity would be a plus
